Xplorist was born from our deep passion for travel.
In a world that feels increasingly connected, we recognize that we may never explore every corner of it, but that won’t stop us from trying.
With the advent of AI, it’s more important than ever to celebrate the tangible world, the real people, and the breathtaking beauty that exists in every corner of our planet. Travel has never been more accessible, yet many still miss out on the opportunity to explore.
We firmly believe that travelling to new countries and immersing oneself in different cultures offers a unique perspective on the world—one that cannot be gained in any other way.
Technology has provided us with incredible tools to experience and share our world, and we hope that the next generation of creators will inspire more people to embrace travel.
For the first time in history, we can document the world like never before, and this has inspired us to create Xplorist, a platform where we share the things that ignite our passion, in hopes of inspiring you to embark on your next adventure.
We have countless ideas and plans for Xplorist, and we look forward to watching this website grow and evolve.
Like any great travel adventure, it’s the unknown that excites us the most.
First and foremost, we are travelers, and when we’re not on the road, we’re busy planning our next adventure.
The founders of Xplorist come from diverse backgrounds, but we all share a deep-rooted connection to travel that began in our early years.
My own love for travel started with my parents, who gifted me with the spirit of adventure at a young age. When I was just 4, my parents sold everything, strapped a windsurfer to our bright yellow 1971 VW pop-top van, and set off on a journey in the dead of a Canadian winter. This van became our home for the next two years as we travelled from Canada through Central America in the mid-1980s. At the time, I couldn’t have known just how significant that trip would be, and unfortunately, it would be years before we would experience that level of freedom again.
After graduating high school, I knew I had to explore the world. Over the next decade, my travels took me across the globe, providing unforgettable experiences. From bartending in Thailand to playing American football in Europe to founding a non-profit in India, travel opened up opportunities I could never have imagined.
My wife’s journey began in a very different place. Her travels were born out of her family’s escape from Iran, a story filled with fake passports, near deportations, and stops in Italy, Germany, Sweden, and eventually a new home in Canada. Our paths crossed in Vancouver, but it was in India that we fell in love, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Now, we have a daughter, and we’re committed to showing her the world. Watching her explore new countries has only deepened our passion for travel.
We believe that travel is incredibly important for children. While it can be challenging at times, there is no doubt in our minds that every second is worth it.
In a world that can sometimes seem frightening, we’ve grown discontent with the status quo and the 9-to-5 rat race of “normal life.”
We don’t know where Xplorist will take us, but we do know that our family is happiest when we’re travelling together.
