Never before has our world been documented like it is today. Today’s technology and the adaptation of drones have given us the ability to see the world like never before and a new wave of video creators is bringing us closer to places we never dreamed possible and we can’t get enough of this new visual storytelling.
Below are some of our favourite cinematographers who have created some of the most visually stunning and compelling travel videos on the internet.

Ben is a Cinematographer with a multi-disciplinary background having explored dance and music from a young age. Being of Polynesian and Middle Eastern descent, Ben’s diversity translates to his work with a deep passion for sharing stories of culture, travel and foreign environments.
His work has won multiple international awards, taken him to 37 countries and allowed him the freedom to collaborate with other inspiring artists and brands on global campaigns, all while growing a community of over 110,000 across YouTube and Instagram.
Ben was recently awarded Independent Filmmaker of the year – New Zealand at the annual Asia-Pacific Business awards 2022.
I first found Ben’s work through his video of Varanasi, India. Varanasi is truly a city like no other and having spent a considerable time there myself I felt his video captured the frenetic energy of the city with the juxtaposition of a place that is known around the world for its relationship with death.
The next video of Ben’s that we have showcased is of winter in New Zealand.
I love seeing these two countries side by side as they could not be more different in nearly every way. They both offer completely different travel opportunities and both are d eserving of your time.
Denis is a travel and outdoor filmmaker based in Italy with a strong passion for exploring the great outdoors, the beauty of nature and documenting the thrill of adventure through a lens.
The first video we saw of his was titled “Mountains” and its a visually striking cinematic short film. I have watched part 1 & 2 multiple times and I can’t wait to see the Dolomites in person.
You can find Part 1 of Mountains on our Italy page.
Denis’s combination of visual storytelling is compelling and we love his work.
“Fernweh” is a German word that describes an intense longing or ache for distant places.
This incredible family has been travelling the world and creating stunning cinematic travel films. What we love is these are not family vacations but actual travel and there is a huge difference. I love watching how they immerse their children in other cultures and are not afraid to take their children on these adventures.
I was fortunate to have parents that did the same for me and it has given me an appreciation for other cultures and instilled a sense of adventure in me that I am forever thankful for.
Take your children travelling, it will only open their eyes to the world and they will be better for it.
We have showcased another Fernweh adventure on our Equador page.
